4th of July Celebration, 2025
As American as Apple Pie
What’s sweeter than celebrating the 4th with a great American, small-town celebration? Nothing!
One of the only Independence Day events in Virginia always held on July 4th, Downtown Wytheville’s 4th of July Celebration paints the town red, white, and blue with the largest single-day music festival in Wythe County regularly drawing over 10,000 people to celebrate Independence Day! This festival draws a crowd with great food, brews, and tunes.
The event showcases on-the-rise musical performances on stages throughout downtown. Besides incredible live music, you can find craft vendors, specialty drinks, a vintage car show, carnival games, and kids activities including a Kid’s Parade and Bike Giveaway. Open container laws are in effect throughout downtown allowing you to bring your drinks with you as you explore the festival. Plan to stay until the end when we light up Main Street with a huge fireworks display.

Christmas Parade & Celebration, 2025
Tree-mendous Good Fun
The Wytheville Christmas Parade is a favorite annual celebration of the season, especially given our beautiful downtown and wide streetscape giving everyone a chance to see the countless floats and parade entries.
Before the parade, join Downtown Wytheville and Wytheville Parks and Recreation in Withers Park for a Winter Wonderland of fun including sleigh rides, hot cocoa, and a chance to meet Santa before walking over to see the parade.
The parade features all that we love about Wytheville: local folks, music, community spirit, and, of course, Santa! Come out and watch or sign up to be a part of the parade. Parade participants are required to register beforehand and a registration form will be attached here in late October 2025. The parade moves down Main Street from Wytheville Community College.

Downtown Wytheville Easter Egg Hunt
Spring into this year’s Downtown Wytheville Easter Egg Hunt! Those 16 and younger can join us from Sunday, March 17th through Sunday, March 24th for a fun-filled Easter Egg hunt throughout Downtown Wytheville. Participating businesses have hidden eggs throughout Downtown, Elizabeth Brown Park, and Withers Park, so keep an eye on those businesses’ social media throughout the week for clues to where the eggs may be. This weeklong hunt leads up to Wytheville Parks and Recreation’s Easter events including the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt, Withers Easter Extravaganza, and Crystal Springs Hike & Hunt on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. When you find an egg, take the contact information inside containing the business’s name to the business to redeem it for a prize basket. There are limited eggs from each business, so participants are limited to only redeeming one egg. Even if you don’t find an egg, enjoy your time downtown and support all the wonderful local businesses along the way.

St. Patrick's Day Weekend in Downtown 2024
Got any plans for St. Patrick's Day? Spend it here in Downtown Wytheville!!
Friday night from 5-9 pm, join in the Downtown Scavenger Hunt Bar Crawl. We will post an initial clue on our social media leading you to a business downtown which will also give you a clue. Follow the clues to each business until you land at the final location. Each clue you solve gets you another name in the hat for a prize drawing at the final location. It's a great way to explore downtown businesses with your friends while also taking advantage of our Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area License (more information below) allowing you to carry open containers of drinks from established ABC-serving locations in the district (Moon Dog, Petals Wine Bar, Seven Sisters, Graze on Main, and the Millwald) throughout your scavenger journey.
Saturday morning at 10am, children (12 and under) can join the folks at Petals for a Leprechaun Coin Hunt throughout downtown as they help Linny the Leprechaun collect all his lost coins. Find coins scattered throughout Main Street and those who collect the most are eligible to win a prize.
It's an exciting St. Patrick's Day weekend, so make plans to spend it here in Downtown Wytheville.
Downtown Wytheville’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area License (DORA) allows for open containers of alcoholic beverages bought at participating locations to be carried within the approved zone; however, there are some rules to keep in mind:
Only drinks purchased from a licensed ABC-serving location in the downtown district are allowed and must be in a disposable branded cup.
Do not take any drinks outside of the approved areas noted on the map above or into businesses that do not permit drinks on site.
Follow all pedestrian and traffic safety rules.
Only those 21 and older are allowed to consume alcohol in the green highlighted area on the provided map, and this license is only in effect from 5-9pm on March 15th, 2024.
Remember to enjoy responsibly, follow all laws and regulations, and plan for a safe and sober ride home.
