Downtown Wytheville hosts several major events throughout the year. These events are designed to provide family fun and entertainment to our community while simultaneously bringing in thousands of people from around the region. This means foot traffic and exposure for our district’s shops and restaurants as well as tourism dollars and tax revenue, benefiting the entire community!

July 4th Celebration
Update: Please note that the 2020 July 4th Celebration has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Held on July 4th every year, this event includes a children’s bicycle parade, live music trail, food and beer, contests, merchant events, and lots more! Finish off the day with fireworks provided by Parks & Recreation.

Mayhem on Main Street
Our signature Halloween/harvest event is held in late October each year. It features Downtown Trick or Treat, a costume contest, a fun run, and a 5K as well as many other mini-events and merchant promotions.

Christmas Celebration
This two-day extravaganza kicks off the winter season on the first Friday and Saturday of December. Caroling, carriage rides, and the town’s largest parade of the year are just a few of the fun activities featured at this event.
