Town of Wytheville Residents are invited to participate in Independence Illumination Weekend: 3 “Nights of Lights” for the July 4th weekend 2020 to celebrate our Nations Independence and our Community Pride!
Friday 7/3, Saturday 7/4, and Sunday 7/5 Homes & Businesses will be Illuminated with lights and Independence Day decorations.

Participation is easy! Town residents: decorate your homes, yards, porches, and places of business in Lights & 4th of July Decor to be on “display” the weekend of July 3rd through the 5th.
Town & County Residents and Visitors to the area are encouraged to take car rides through the town of Wytheville during these 3 nights to view the Lights & Decor displays.

If Participating in the decorating & lighting displays:
You are asked to share your street name or area of town on the event page so folks will know you are participating. Specific addresses are not required.
Please have your lights turned on from Sunset (around 8pm) through at least 10:30 pm.
Please be safe in your decorating and lighting displays. Never leave lit candles unattended.
If you plan to drive or walk through town neighborhoods:
Please be mindful of increased, sometimes slow moving, traffic through the town during these 3 evenings, as well as families walking on sidewalks & neighborhoods.
If walking, please wear white, bright, or reflective clothing.
Please be respectful and remain in cars (or on sidewalks if walking). Do not enter yards or display areas unless specifically invited by the home/business owner.
Please remember that due to COVID19, we will likely still be social distancing, so please do not congregate in public areas.
