This is a two day workshop. Please take note of the dates and times. Pottery is a process that often requires time between steps to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Tuesday, January 22, 6-8 pm
Friday, January 25, 6-8 pm
On the first day students will learn basic beginning skills for hand building ceramic objects without a pottery wheel. They will create and carve designs into the project of their choice and then leave it to be bisque fired.
On the second day the students will glaze their project. The item will then be placed in the kiln for their final firing.
Students will receive their project later in the week after they have been fired and cooled.
Here’s a little bit about our pottery instructor, Aurora Lucas…straight from her!
“Jill-of-all-trades; I’m a mother of 4, wife of 1, and artist/healer/hippy in my soul! We live on a small farm with a huge garden, 7 Donkeys, 2 mini horses, 8 goats, 2 pot-bellied pigs, 2 cats, 3 dogs, and a partridge in a pear tree! I draw most of my inspiration from nature and embrace organic shapes in my pottery pieces. Wonky is wonderful!”
